Fully Chartered Architect and Engineer Olivia Schimek-Hickisch is laureate of the Female Medal of Special Achievements City of Linz 2008 and the Austrian Solar Price 2000. Mrs Schimek-Hickisch studied architecture in Vienna and Canada, accompanied by numerous study-trips. She practiced in Singapore and lived in London. She continued the family´s architectural office after her late father and her field of activity as an architect covers a diverse variety of projects throughout the whole of Austria and within a worldwide partner-network internationally. She lectures at national and international professional conventions conveying the topics of eco-architecture and bioclimatic building especially innovative integration of technology and renewables and acts as a trainer for WIFI international, thesis supervisor and juror in architectural competitions. She follows an intense commitment in professional organisations and founded the regional female architects committee „ZIMT“. Her latest positions are president ÖIAV (reg. society of architects and engineers) and vice-president of the regional chamber of architects and engineers.
